National Aboriginal Achievement Award (NAAA) 2010
Ellen Melcosky of Westbank was recognized in a special ceremony in Ottawa at the House of Commons. The special occasion was to acknowledge that Melcosky was chosen as a 2010 National Aboriginal Achievement Award (NAAA) Business and Commerce Award Recipient.

"The awards were presented in Toronto at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel and it was amazing," Melcosky recalls. Following hard on the heels of the national accolades, was a nomination for a BC Aboriginal Business Award for outstanding achievement. Awarded to an Aboriginal or Minority owned business with 20 or fewer employees, the small business award goes to a company with impact in sales growth, in exporting or as an industry innovator.
Citation for BC Aboriginal Business Awards Achiever 2009
The recipients of the inaugural British Columbia Aboriginal Business Awards were announced by Premier Gordon Campbell and Keith Mitchell, chair of the BC Achievement Foundation. The recipients will be honoured at a gala celebration on January 27, 2009 in Vancouver. The BC Aboriginal Business Awards were launched in October 2008 to honour and celebrate business acumen. Eight inaugural award recipients were selected. In addition, a further group of Aboriginal businesses were noted, in each category, for their outstanding achievement.
Little Miss Chief was showcased in the book, New Pioneers: Stories of 100 BC Women Entrepreneurs
The publication is a celebration of the pioneering spirit of 100 contemporary women entrepreneurs from around the province. Women’s Enterprise Centre feels it is not only important to recognize and celebrate entrepreneurial roots, but also essential to record those accomplishments for the generations to come.

Received a Finalist Mistapew Award recognizing Aboriginal Business Achievement. Listed in Food In Canada Magazine May 2001 "under top ten". Article in Profit Magazine, nominated for Canada Export 2001 award.
